With homework responsibilities, a schedule full of extra-curricular activities, and so much technology at their fingertips, our kids just aren’t getting the time they need to play and explore the outdoors. The Treetoppers After School Program provides a solution by offering fun and challenging outdoor activities for 4th and 5th graders from our surrounding communities. Treetoppers spend each day exploring Hale’s 1,100 acres, learning new skills, making friends, building confidence and self-esteem, and even getting some homework done! The program offers themed days, ensuring there is always something going on for everyone: Monday – Field Games; Tuesday – Boating; Wednesday – Girls/Boys Outdoor Adventures; Thursday – Archery; Friday – Outdoor Living Skills. Contact Emily to learn more.

Who Do We Serve?

Treetoppers is open to 4th and 5th graders from Westwood, Dover, Dedham, Norwood, and Needham. Hale offers transportation to Deerfield Elementary School students and Sheehan Elementary School students following dismissal. Due to limited seats, transportation is on a first-come, first-served basis, and we encourage parents to provide transportation whenever possible. Treetoppers is based at the Trading Post, roughly 0.7 miles from Hale’s main entrance at 80 Carby Street, Westwood MA. Pick-up occurs between 5:30pm and 6pm.

LIT Program

We also offer a Treetoppers “Leaders in Training” program for middle school students, where they will build leadership skills, assist program staff, and serve as positive mentors and role models for our 4th and 5th grade participants. Contact Emily for more details.
