Leaders-in-Training (LIT) Grades 9 - 10 (12 to 1 camper to staff ratio)

The LIT program, offered for two, 4 week sessions or one 8 week session, is designed to engage young adults with hands-on opportunities and appropriate challenges in a supportive environment which will provide the skills needed to become true leaders at camp and beyond.

LITs participate in general development training, off-site field trips and group teambuilding challenges. LITs will spend time on Hale's extensive Ropes Course with more than 25 high & low elements. They will learn from camp leaders with a combined 100+ years of experience working with youth.

The program features three unique "tracks" that participants choose from.

Counselor Track   *    Activity Track   *    Waterfront Track

Each track allows the LITs to focus on the specific camp training experience that they are interested in. All tracks provide more than 40 hours of hands-on experience, including Red Cross CPR & First Aid Training. Pending successful completion of these programs, LITs will leave with Red Cross Certifiations.
