Leaders-in-Training Grades 9 - 10 (12 to 1 camper to staff ratio)
The LIT program, offered for two, 4 week sessions or one 8 week session, is designed to engage young adults with hands-on opportunities and appropriate challenges in a supportive environment which will provide the skills needed to become true leaders at camp and beyond.
LITs participate in general development training, off-site field trips and group teambuilding challenges. LITs will spend time on Hale's extensive Ropes Course with more than 25 high & low elements. They will learn from camp leaders with a combined 100+ years of experience working with youth.
The program features two unique "tracks" that participants choose from.
Counselor Track or Activity Track
Both track allows the LITs to focus on the specific camp training experience that they are interested in. Each track provides more than 40 hours of hands-on experience, including Red Cross CPR & First Aid Training. Pending successful completion of these programs, LITs will leave with Red Cross Certifiations.
